Moira Brock BEM BCA(a) Founder/Principal

La Danse Fantastique, was founded by Moira Brock in 1990, It is a school for the performing arts, mixing children with special needs and able bodied, through music, dance and shows, where they all get to express themselves.

La Danse fantastique has four purpose-built studios in Bowlers Croft, Basildon. Our studios are equipped with air-conditioning/heating, mirrors and ballet barres, plus we have a lounge area for parents or students to relax in during breaks.

We accept students from all localities, including Basildon, Billericay, Southend, Chelmsford, Brentwood, Thurrock, Romford and Wickford.

Our teachers are all highly qualified in their respective fields, ensuring a safe and excellent standard of training.

We offer classes in Dance, Singing and Drama for students of all ages regardless of ability in a safe friendly environment with modern studio facilities.

Dedicated Services
Moira has taught Ballet, Modern, Tap, Musical Theatre, Drama, and Singing for the last 34 years, to children and toddlers of all ages and abilities, and along with her talented team of teachers, provides a truly inclusive setting, where those with special needs are genuinely integrated, which serves both sets of children equally, enabling able-bodied children to accept and understand those with differences. At the same time, helping those with differences to express themselves in an understanding environment.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Melody bear
MELODY MOVEMENT AND EARLY LEARNING,
LEARNING TO DANCE AND DANCING TO LEARN
Melody Movement Early Learning introduces children to dance and movement using the natural actions of the body such as running, walking, jumping, hopping, skipping and galloping. It is a structured syllabus to aid children’s physical development, coordination, spatial awareness, creativity and self-expression, working individually, with a partner, or as a group.

It is tailored to discovering and fulfilling the potential of each child, nurturing their creative development, whilst supporting teachers with the tools to deliver effective and happy classes in music and movement, ballet and tap dancing.

Loveable teddy, Melody Bear, is the focal point of the early years curriculum, and all her activities, stories, ideas and dreams can be told through dance and movement. The carefully planned learning experience of each child ensures a successful transition from one stage to the next.

Melody Movement also introduces children to other fundamental curriculum learning skills such as counting, colour and shape recognition vocabulary and language skills, making classes a journey into the Magical World of Melody Bear.

The Melody Bear journey ends at the Foundation Ballet level as the children wave farewell to her at their Graduation Ceremony. The creative spirit of Melody Movement continues in our Junior Ballet syllabus and Ballet Classique study programmes.
