Welcome to the wonderful world of Melody bear
MELODY MOVEMENT AND EARLY LEARNING,
LEARNING TO DANCE AND DANCING TO LEARN
Melody Movement Early Learning introduces children to dance and movement using the natural actions of the body such as running, walking, jumping, hopping, skipping and galloping. It is a structured syllabus to aid children’s physical development, coordination, spatial awareness, creativity and self-expression, working individually, with a partner, or as a group.

It is tailored to discovering and fulfilling the potential of each child, nurturing their creative development, whilst supporting teachers with the tools to deliver effective and happy classes in music and movement, ballet and tap dancing.

Loveable teddy, Melody Bear, is the focal point of the early years curriculum, and all her activities, stories, ideas and dreams can be told through dance and movement. The carefully planned learning experience of each child ensures a successful transition from one stage to the next.

Melody Movement also introduces children to other fundamental curriculum learning skills such as counting, colour and shape recognition vocabulary and language skills, making classes a journey into the Magical World of Melody Bear.

The Melody Bear journey ends at the Foundation Ballet level as the children wave farewell to her at their Graduation Ceremony. The creative spirit of Melody Movement continues in our Junior Ballet syllabus and Ballet Classique study programmes.

Testimonials
My daughter has really settled into the dance classes. Every Saturday morning she looks forward to the classes. The staff are so very supportive and very accommodating to her special needs, the environment feels safe and my daughter is progressing, and at the same time, enjoying herself. A big thank you to all the staff there!
Ottilia Takaendasa

My son Aston joined LDF at a very difficult time in his life. He has autism and had undergone many years of surgery for a bowel condition. Having had a colostomy at 11 years of age, his mental health and self esteem took a real knock. The battle to get him into the class alone was trying, but with the assistance and perseverance of Moira and her amazing, dedicated teaching staff, he soon settled in. He has grown from strength to strength, within the school, reaching a very high standard in all elements of dance and drama. He has managed to achieve more at LDF than in school or college, and is himself now assistng in classes. Thank you to Moira and all the staff for believing in him and giving him such great opportunities.
Dawn and Keith Avery

Words cannot express how LDF has transformed our daughter Lydia. She was terribly bullied at her college which resulted in us moving her to a different education provider. She attended a mental health charity to try to get her anxiety under control. There were times when we felt we had lost our happy, funny girl. I found LDF whilst searching the internet. We felt Lydia needed a different peer group to interact with. It was completely out of her comfort zone, as you know, it took many many months to encourage her to enter the building without having a meltdown. With Georgia’s support and encouragement, Lydia has come on leaps and bounds. She even entered the building on her own yesterday, when my husband dropped her off. A year ago, this would never have happened! That happy, funny girl has returned! Her confidence and self-esteem has improved no end. Our girl is back! Your support, encouragement and inclusion has been second to none and for that we are forever grateful. Thank you for her Jack Petchy Award. This award isn’t just for Lydia, it’s for every member of staff who has taught her at LDF.
Here’s to 2025, Panto! Oh no it isn’t!
Leonia

Katie-Grace has attended LDF dance classes since she was 5 years old. She thoroughly enjoys her time there and has lots of fun meeting lovely friends. The dance has provided wonderful oppotrunities such as performing on stage, taking dance exams and workshops. We have seen our Daughter grow in confidence through the years and her dance skills have blossomed. To see her perform on stage is the best feeling ever. She always says that LDF is her dance family, which I think is the biggest compliment you can say about all of the teachers at LDF. We can’t thank you enough for all of your hard work and dedication towards the students.
Sarah

My daughter has been a part of LDF since 2019, when she was only 5. In the last almost 6 years she has grown in confidence and talent because of this wonderful performing arts school. She has grown from a shy child into a true performer. LDF is such a special school, I love that there is a mix of all abilities and that my daughter is exposed to so many different special needs which has made her especially excepting, as they encourage all students to treat each other equally. All of the performers are treated equally and allowed to showcase their talents. The shows they put on are always so well put together. They offer so many wonderful opportunities to their students. They encourage happiness and wonderful friendships. The teachers are honestly amazing and really encourage the students talents, and push them in the best way. They encourage positive energy and my daughter always comes home wanting to practise what she has learned, and is excited for next week’s lessons. I love LDF and I am so glad I chose this amazing company for my child and would recommend it to anyone wanting to send their children to a performing arts school.
